Visibility is averaging 12 - 15m now and the fish life on Jew Shoal is astonishing. The Caves is diving particularly well with a carpet of yakkas disguising the reef below and the cruising Kingfish a real sight to behold as they smash the bait. A very dosile olive sea snake came for an inquisitive look at our dive group, a real treat! Water temperature is around 23c so a good 5mm suit or a semi dry is just fine, but on the surface the wind can be a little chilly so bring a coat. See you soon!

Recent rains have not greatly effected visibility with it dipping midweek to around 4 - 5m, but back up a day or so later to around 6 - 8m, with the water temp a reasonable 26c. Marine life is still brilliant with around 6 eagle rays joining us at the start of one dive. Nudibranchs are still prolific with several personal new finds. I find it amazing that after so many dives on the one site that you can still discover new critters you have never seen there before! Good diving.

Happy New Year to all!! It has been a very busy time for us which is fantastic. We have enjoyed fantastic visibility over the last few days and it seems to only be getting better each day, in the order of 15m. The surface has been a bit bumpy but once on the bottom it has been worth it. Lots of marine life including turtles, rays, spanish mackeral, kingfish, the usual huge schools of yakka and bullseye etc. People have really enjoyed the diversity of Noosa's reefs. Water temperture is around 26 - 27with the odd colder patch but pretty nice. To get on board you will need to book ahead as we are very busy in the coming days. Best wishes for the new year ahead and good diving.

Some very exciting arrivals at Jew Shoal recently with 3 quite large female grey nurse sharks. Spotted over the last couple of days just cruising around enjoying Noosa like a lot of visitors. Check the picasa site for a full range of pictures. Conditions are quite variable but overall water temp is around 25c and visibility is averaging 10 -12m. The boat is quite busy so booking early to avoid disappointment is essential. Good Diving!

It has been a really hectic couple of weeks with lots of open water and advanced courses. Diving this weekend has been excellent with visibility ranging from around 8m up to 15m and the water temperature is nudging 25c. Lots of pelagics moving into the bay, an eagle ray launched itself out of the water right next to the boat which was exciting. Some beautiful nudibranchs have been spotted. Check the picasa site for a full range of pictures. I am away for the next 5 days until Friday 11 December, so after that we will be diving weather permitting everyday through to Christmas. If you wish to dive leave a message on the phone 0405 300 303 or send an email and I will get back to you when I return. Good Diving!

It has been a while since I have formally updated the reports but with the addition of twitter it is much easier to send a quick txt message and viola the report is done. But over the last two months it has been very good diving and the conditions have been overall outstanding. Visibility has averaged around the 12m mark with some days in excess of 25m. Marine life is really abundant, the schools of baitfish are thick, Oscar the large loggerhead turtle is on the prowl for female turtles, and even a manta ray was spotted. With the water around 24c and climbing now is the time to be getting wet!

This week we dived Hancocks Shoal, about a 45 minute run from the Marina. Conditions could not have been better with glassy seas and just a slight swell. As we headed along the coastline we came across large schools of baitfish some over an acre in size. Then we spotted whales playing on the surface tail slapping and breaching. The two dives were brilliant we dived the top of Hancocks which is in about 9m of water, life was good with viz around 10m and an area we called the gutter. It had ledges and gutters with an awesome covering of hard and soft corals, viz was good here more like 12 - 15. Then on the run home we spotted a hammerhead chasing fish on the surface. What a day! We are planning another trip there on the 27 space is limited so call to get on.

At long last we able to report on great visibility in the range of 15 - 20m, and water temperature around 20c. Lots of nudibranchs around with bait fish a plenty, rays, pelagics and resident wobbegongs. Surface conditions have been fantastic with the weather warming and the vis great it really is the time to start diving again! See you soon.

Exciting news from yesterdays dive were the whales spotted quite close by, around 100 - 150m away! They appeared to be be heading south which does seem to be a bit early but maybe they were just heading into Laguna Bay for a bit of a play. Underwater it wasn't quite so great, the swell is building a little bit and with that was some surge and visibility quite varied with between 2 - 6m. However divers enjoyed the variety on offer including sea stars, octopus, and wobbegongs to name a few. Water temperature is still 18c. Next dive is planned for Friday.

Just getting back to regular diving following another bout of strong winds and big seas recently. Visibility varies between 6 and 12 m depending on the state of the tide and other factors. Water temp is around 19 - 20c! Whales can be heard on dives but not many are coming in close at the moment. A good variety of sea life including several turtles spotted on the second dive. Diving Tuesday and Friday midweek at the moment and then Sat and Sun as demand dictates. Water is a bit nippy for us Queenslanders but most of the southerners and kiwi's tell me it's pretty warm!

Diving has been quite good over the last week or two. marine life is quite prolific and the whales can be heard while diving but only occasionally spotted on the surface and usually quite some distance away. Visibility varies between 6 and 12 m depending on the state of the tide and other factors. Water temp is around 19 - 20c! Nudibranchs are quite common and the wobbegongs are breeding at the moment with dozens of them to be found usually right where you want to place your hand! Give me a call and lets go diving.

Diving at long last has returned to some consistency with good visibility in the 10 - 12m range and plenty of marine life. We had schooling cobia swimming around us last week, along with yellow tail kingies and a very large cow tail ray. All the suspects are there including some very pregnant wobbegongs! We also dived on Sunshine Reef for the first time in quite a while, a ver nice coral trout greeted us before disappearing. Water temp is around 20 - 21c, and the surface is glass with little or no swell. Finally we are into our winter patterns so give me a call and lets go diving!

Weather conditions have improved in the last couple of days and hopefully we will be into the familiar weather patterns of winter with clear skies, clean water and light breezes. Water temperature is around 21c and visibility is improving but still down a little after a month of torrentials rains and swell. Looking to get back to diving very soon so give us a call.

Well, well, well said the deep hole! And that is what we are a deep whole full of water! Following the past 2 cyclones we have now had enough rain to supply Brisbane, Sydney and anyone else who would like a drop. Got out for the first time in a while on Monday the 13 and conditions were not great unfortunately. Visibility is suffering from all this rain but let's hope the usual weather of autumn gets here soon and diving is back on the agenda!

Diving is currently on hold while we wait for the effects of tropical cyclone Hamish to clear up. The only upside being that I have had some nice waves at the points at Noosa. Lets hope we are diving soon.

Great diving today. This morning we did an exploratory dive on Sunshine Reef, this site is more exposed and deeper so advanced divers only but it was very nice. The reef rose up from 26m to about 19m with a ledge running along for about 60m or so. Some very large coral trout came in for a look, lots of sponges and a great variety of life. The second dive was again in an unexplored area of Jew shoal near a spot I call "the hole in the wall". Again great variety with a stonefish, a little unusal out here, in the order of 3 or 4kg. I think I might call it Stonehenge in honour of the massive stonefish and also given the nature of the terrain, several large bommies rising out of 18m up to 11 or 12m. Check out some of the photo's from these dives. Visibility was in the order of 15+ at Sunshine and around 10 - 12 at Jew Shoal.

Currently the surface conditions have been keeping us out of the water... but on the upside my surfing has improved with all the practise! The courses are still happening so call and get your open water course started now so when the swell drops off we can get you in the water. Let's hope those affected by all these natural disasters get all the help thy need.

It has been a while since the last report, things have been quite busy so the website has taken a back seat. However diving conditions below the surface have been outstanding with visibility in the 20 - 30m range, and even with all the recent bad weather we are still getting 18+ metres of clear water! The marine life has been great with eagle rays visiting regularly, bait fish thick as, and plenty of pelagic action starting to happen. Surface conditions have been a little rough but the diving has definitely been worth it. PLenty of courses have been completed and looking forward to a busy year again...

First day back in the water for 2 weeks after a little holiday and some students from Matthew Flinders Anglican College doing their first open water dives had 15M visibility and were joined by 3 eagle rays at the beginning of their dive. It was really special. Conditions have been fantastic with light winds and warm waters around 24c, we are very busy at the moment so bookings are essential.

This month has seen us complete PADI open water courses for students from all over the sunshine coast and the world. Congratulations to Jenny, Herbert and Yvonne from Switzerland and Sammy from Noosa who recently finished. There are also nearly 20 others waiting for this weather to clear up so we can complete dives 3 & 4. Here's hoping next week will be better. The visibility has been great averaging around 10 - 12 m, pleanty of fish life, yellow tail kingfish, eagle rays, and a couple of cobia cruising around plus all the usual suspects.

During a surface interval at Tea Tree Bay on Sunday the 19 we had a memorable experience a single large dolphin approach the boat and after he returned a couple of times I decided to quietly slip into the water and see if I could take some photo's. Well look at the results, he played around for nearly 10 minutes before heading off somewhere else to play. BTW the diving was not bad either, visibibilty in the 10 - 12m range despite a bit of bad weather recently and lots to see as usual.

Despite the weather change in the last couple of days, the diving has been excellent. On Thursday this week we had some juvenile humpback whales breaching not much more than 50 - 60m from the boat and that was before the divers got in the water! Of course this was the one time I forgot to bring the camera... Doh! Once on the bottom visibility was good at around 10 - 12m, with heaps to see. The old local turtle we've nicknamed barney due to the growth on his shell was having a snooze in one of the small caves and cuddling up to him was a decent sized wobbegong. A lovely eagle ray cruised by, a large cod has moved onto the site (I hope he stays safe from the spearfishers) and all the other usual nudibranchs, baitfish and critters were about. Visibility looks to be hanging in there and water temp is rapidly climbing now nudging a barmy 22c, almost time to take off the drysuit! LOL!! Good diving, hear from you soon.

What a great couple of days diving! Whales on the surface, wobbegongs, turtles, pelagics and nudibranchs galore. It seems every dive I have found a new variety i have never seen on the site before!! Hard to imagine given I have been diving here for nearly 10 years. All I can say is the water is warming up, visibility has been averaging 12m it is time to get out there and go diving so give me a call soon. Ciao Following is just some of the photos from the last few days diving.

Monday sept 22 while having our surface interval we watched several juvenile humpbacks breaching and putting on a wonderful display for about 10 -15 minutes no more than 250m from the boat. The only way it could have been better was if they had come in for a look while we were diving! On the diving front the visibility has really improved probably in the 12 - 15m range which is fantastic, fish life is great and the nudibranchs are just so prolific. With school holidays on get on the phone and book to make sure you don't miss out! BTW the whales should be about for at least the next month as they travel south on their migration route back to the southern waters.

Well diving has been a real mixed bag over the last week! Visibility has been up and down with those northerlies dominating. On one day you have 8 - 10m and the next 3 - 4m, but regardless the pelagics are moving into the bay. Last Sunday we had the Mac Tuna circling the boat as they fed on the bait fish, and the Nudibranchs are so abundant at the moment. Literally dozens of them all shapes and colours, a really spectacular display and one worth seeing! The good news is the water is slowly warming up and surface intervals are spent in very pleasant 24 - 25c sunshine! With school holidays starting soon bookings are filling up so get in early if you are looking to dive!

Dived yesterday and the visibility was not as great as I was expecting given the great surface conditions, however still a really pleasant dive. Many varieties of nudibranchs are back on the sites which is great to see and the baitfish are back in the bay which is starting to attract the pelagics. Water temp was still 19c and viz about 6 - 8m. Lots happening over the next few months so give us a call and lets go diving!

Great diving last week! Conditions on Saturday and Sunday were just awsome with barely a ripple on the surface. Downstairs the vis ranged from 8 - 12 m. On Saturday we dove Sunshine reef and the spot was very pretty, while a few students completed some advanced skills, others explored around with plenty of beautiful sponges and a few coral trout. Sunday the first dive was on the pin, I dropped down into the gutter and immediately began finding nudibranchs, by the end of the dive 11 different species! Also an octopus of considerable size, about a 10kg tusk fish, and a small leopard shark resting. What a dive! Earlier in the week 3 students completed their open water course - congratulations to Genna, Anne, and Tanya.

Diving over the last few days has been excellent, visibility is averaging 10 - 12m with the usual great variety of sea life. Nudibranchs are back and plentiful on all the main sites. The whale songs are starting and the occassional siting is always on the cards. Water temp is a pleasant 20c. Winter weather is in full swing bringing with it those glorious surface conditions and blue skys, so give me a call and lets go diving!
